MailCatcher is a local SMTP server that captures messages sent to it and displays them in a web interface. Developers point applications at smtp://127.0.0.1:1025, then review received mail at http://127.0.0.1:1080/.
It is used for application development and testing, with support for HTML, plain text, and source views, attachment downloads, original-message export, keyboard navigation, and a command-line helper called catchmail. The project is open source and can be run as a daemon or in the foreground.
