Change tracking is being set up. We do not backfill or fabricate history - once the first snapshot is recorded, this page will show every material change we observe from that date forward.
In the meantime: how FTV is calculated · browse the full directory.
How we decide what counts as a change
Free-tier terms drift slightly on every re-scan even when nothing really changed - a prompt tweak can move an FTV score by a point or two. We only publish a change once it crosses a materiality threshold, measured against the last change we published (not just the previous scan), so a value can't creep past the threshold one unpublished nudge at a time:
- FTV score: moves by 5 points or more
- Estimated free-tier value: moves by at least $5 or 20%, whichever is larger
- Listing type (e.g. free tier → free trial): any change
- Free-tier quota: only when an actual number changes, not when the wording is reworded
- Paid plan price: moves by at least $1 or 5%, whichever is larger
- Paid plan added or removed: always - a plan rename shows up as a removal plus an addition
- Listing removed, or flipped to paid/unknown: always, shown as delisted
If one run detects the same kind of change across an unusually large share of listings, we label it a methodology re-score rather than a wave of vendor changes, and exclude it from the RSS feed.
